This Walnut breakfront bookcase was made in a top workshop in the early part of the 20th century. (circa 1930)
It would have been originally retailed by a premier furniture retailer in the day, probably Harrods or Maple & co. whose delivery wagon (similar one pictured) would have delivered it to the home of one of the professional class in the day.
This bookcase is of small proportions and so will fit in most modern homes.
The bookcase is of breakfront form, with a 4 glazed door bookcase above, fitted with adjustable shelves. The lower base section has four drawers and 4 cupboard doors enclosing shelves.
The whole bookcase is veneered in fine figured walnut with herringbone banding.
It stands on bracket feet.
Due to the size of this bookcase it not only looks fantastic, but it also is of a convenient size to fit most spaces in your home.
We have sympathetically restored this bookcase to its former glory. It had been standing in a very sunny spot in a home and the polish had gone a milky colour. Our experienced restorer gently and sympathetically brought it back to life and you would not know it had been worked on.
