This Victorian yew wood captain’s chair was made circa 1880. Now Sold
It is very rare to have a captain’s chair (these were often called smokers bow chairs in the past) made in yew wood.
The solid elm saddle seat is very comfortable, and you can sit on it for long periods.
The bow shaped back is made in solid yew, a very interesting material and quite hard to work with, hence it was not always used.
The ring turned legs solid yew legs are joined by the desirable double cross stretcher. The stretchers help makes this a solid and strong chair.

We use a professional Removal company to transport our precious items and do not entrust them to usual parcel services. Therefore, delivery may be 7 -10 days, but it is worth the wait of course.
