Victorian oval walnut wine table
NOW SOLD
We are pleased to offer this fabulous Victorian inlaid walnut tripod table.
The oval burr walnut top with a double band of kingwood and box inlay.
The under edge of the top, with the attractive feature of a scalloped edging.
The table has a solid walnut base, consisting of an elegant turned carved stem, and then with the 3 finely carved cabriole legs coming off the base.
As this table is of an oval shape, it will fit in so many situations around the home. Its golden colour, and the life in the burr walnut makes this a stunning piece. It will be something that is bound to be much admired by family and friends.
This table would have been first made circa 1870-75, when Gladstone was Prime Minister of Great Britain, James Whistler had his painting Arrangement in Grey and Black exhibited, England played Scotland in the first ever International football match, and Queen Victoria opens the Albert memorial in memory to her late husband Albert.
