 This Victorian oak extending dining table was made circa 1875 in one of the best workshops working in this period.

This table extends to take 3 leaves and can be used with any combination of leaves, to enable to make the appropriate space for dining.

The table is solid oak, even the runners are made of fine oak.

Around the border of the top it has fine carving of leaves.

To each corner the table has wonderful turned fluted legs with a carved tablet to the top and then fine turned legs that end with the original china rolling wheels with brass collars.

This table would have been made for a large Victorian mansion of the professional classes.

Imagine the oak panelled dining room with its oak floor and the table sitting in the middle of the room as its centrepiece.

It is often overlooked how these items would have been delivered before the days of the combustion engine, a crew of porters would have delivered this lovely dining table on a horse drawn removal wagon like the one the one pictured.
