This Victorian oak double pedestal desk was made circa 1880 and still retains its original oxidised copper on brass handles. NOW SOLD
The top with its inset leather writing surface, was hand dyed and gilt tooled by our craftsman with 50years of experience.
The leather is laid and then hand coloured ,before the hand gilding is applied. After that the antique finish is carefully and the final finish is
There are 3 drawers under the top, one the full width of the kneehole and to each side drawers the width of the pedestals below.
Each pedestal is fitted 3 graduated drawers, and finishes on a plinth base.
This desk was made in oak with fine mahogany drawer linings.
This desk was made in 3 parts, which makes it very easy to move around your office or home.
If you find a pedestal desk elsewhere that does not come into 3 parts, BE AWARE that it probably did not start life as a desk.
