This Victorian mahogany pedestal desk was made circa 1875 in a good workshop using top grade mahogany. NOW SOLD
Over the 40 plus years of supplying good homes we have found that this Victorian mahogany pedestal desk is the best domestic size 137cms wide (4ft 6ins)as it provides great workspace as well as not being too big for the home.
A hand dyed and gilt tooled burgundy leather is the inset writing surface. This is not a skiver that has been pre coloured and cut from a roll like you will see on the majority of desks elsewhere, but it is laid in the raw before skilfully being hand dyed and hand gilt tooled to give it this wonderful ‘always been there and well loved’ look. Not the manufactured contrived reproduction feel.
The pedestal desk comes into 3 pieces that enables you to transport this to and around your house or office with ease.
It is fitted with 9 mahogany lined drawers, that consist of 3 drawers along the top and a further 3 graduated drawers to each side of the kneehole.
