This Victorian inlaid walnut coffee table was made circa 1870. NOW SOLD

Originally a loo table (‘Loo’ was a Victorian parlour game) this table has been adapted in its lifetime to make a superb and stunning coffee table. A real conversation piece as the golden colour together with the inlays makes this such a standout piece for your home.

The oval shaped top with its lovely burr walnut veneers with the inlaid patterns to the four corners joined by box wood stringing.

It stands on the original quadruple carved walnut legs.

There were no coffee tables in the 19^th century and so people looked for items that could be used for this use as coffee tables became an important part of the modern home. This style of table was perfect for such a use.
