This Regency gilt overmantle mirror was made circa 1825. NOW SOLD
It has triple mercurial plate mirrors that have the lovely blue grey period tinge to them.
The gilt frame with acanthus leaf frieze and carved wood barley twist columns with acanthus leaf capitals and rosettes above.
Under the breakfront cornice there are the gilded wooden balls.
Under the gilding there is yellow ochre and red bole.
We have sympathetically restored this to bring it to this wonderful period hue.
Our specialist gilder who has worked on the Queen’s Royal collection at locations such as Windsor Castle has painstakingly worked on this Regency gilt overmantle mirror to bring it to its current state.
