Here we offer this Queen Anne chest on stand that is made in walnut. The chest was crafted in the traditional manner, veneered in walnut with herringbone banding around the drawer fronts. The attractive end grain molding around the lightly flared cornice is always a desirable feature and adds character to a piece.
The stand that was constructed in the Victorian period, stands on solid walnut turnings that are joined by a wavy stretcher.
Queen Anne furniture was in the main quite reserved with a focus on the quality and look of the veneers and with little or no carving.
The chest is fitted 2 drawers along the top and a further 3 graduated drawers under, the stand with a wide drawer above the arcaded apron and a further drawer to each side.
