This George II walnut chest on chest was made circa 1740. NOW SOLD
The cabinetmaker would have picked these amazing walnut veneers to show off the oval figuring.
He matched the veneers down the drawer fronts on the base section, the 4 ovals run down the fronts of each drawer giving this a unique look. The size of the ovals is extraordinary, imagine the tree that they were from!
The top section with the fine canted corners with the flutes running up. This section is fitted 3 small drawers along the top and a further 3 graduated drawers below, the bottom drawer also having stunning feature veneers.
It stands on the original ogee bracket feet.
