This Set of 12 antique Thames Valley Windsor chairs were made circa 1860
To find a set of 12 chairs of this type is very rare. We are very fortunate to be able to offer such a large set of Windsor chairs.
Quite often chairs of this type are small in seat size, but these examples are very generous.
These have the spindle backs with a central shaped splat with the spoke wheel motif in the centre.
The solid elm seats with the scribe line running around the edge, and the fish tail shape to the rear, with a pair of spindles that join the back to the seat, this gives the chair extra strength.
The turned legs are joined by stretchers.
