These desks are commonly known as bon heur du jour (good hour of the day) desks
The top with a marvellous superstructure, consisting of a pair of lidded compartments of waterfall shape, that open to reveal an interior fitted a pen-tray and letter compartments.There is also a small drawer to each side of the desk top under the lidded sections.
The leather and tooled inset writing surface above the concave central drawer, with a pair of graduated drawers each side of the kneehole.
This elegant desk stands on square tapering legs that finish with the original brass rolling castors
